Description:
The dog you just clicked on is a puppy mill survivor.
Puppy Mill dogs need people who will understand that they are not ready to
instantly bond but who are willing to give them time to adjust to life in
a home and to learn that humans can be kind. Many mill dogs need another
balanced, well adjusted dog in the home that they can model after. A
fenced yard and a quieter home with older or no kids is also recommended
for them during their adjustment period.
Puff is a darling boy! He is smart, inquisitive and trying very hard to
become all that he can be. His housetraining has improved, but he still
needs to be watched while inside as he does not know how to let his person
know it's time to go outside. Puff has learned and adapted to the
routines of the other dogs and is always thrilled to see them.
Puff is much better with letting his foster mom touch him and pick him up.
He sometimes even comes over and solicits a scratch behind the ear. He
still ignores all other human members of the household so a quieter home
with one or two people would be the best placement for this little guy.
Puff is still learning how to be a dog in a home environment and is making
progress, but his forever home will need to be patient and give him time
to adjust as he continues to learn what life is like outside of a
breeder's cage.
