Meet Rio!

Rio is ready for Spring!   He could hardly stand still for his shelter photos!   Do you have a place for him when he gets here?

5/12:   Rio is doing well in his emergency foster home.   He is getting along with the cats and the kids and is eager to please.    His foster says he is affectionate and polite.   Her daughter is having some allergies, so it would be great to get him moved out soon!

5/14:   Rio is a sweet little guy. The foster said he likes their cats and he's gentle when they try to play with him. He loves to snuggle with everyone in the family and enjoys going for walks. He comes when he's called, and he has never had an accident in the kennel (both at night and during 7 hour days). He sleeps really well in his kennel when he has a cozy blanket, and he rarely barks. Rio loves to play with other dogs and would make a wonderful family pet because he loves attention, he's pretty mellow, and so sweet. He's still working on potty training, but he's doing really well.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
