Meet Ava!

Update 5/28 from foster:

Ava is a very easy dog to have around.

Ava does love her people! She is slow to warm up and still recovering from her scary ordeal alone in the world. It takes a little time for her to trust people, but when she does she wants to be with you forever! She is a very sweet girl, housebroken, comes when called from the fenced yard, and walks fabulously on leash. She does bark when new people enter the home, but then she settles down and takes her place right next to her foster mom or dad.

She would be best in home with no kids as she is still timid and cowers often at quick movements. She likes other dogs and plays with them, but likes her people best of all. She would probably do really well as an only dog. She sleeps through the night, can be home alone, no chewing or destructive behaviors and has not used a kennel during the day or evenings. When we are at work, she sleeps in her bed or on our bed.

She is a sweetheart who will steal your heart.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
