Description:
Buster Brown is an energetic young pup with tons of charm! At 36 pounds, he is a small, but mighty Pit mix. We speculate he might be mixed with some kind of hound or smaller dog, perhaps a Beagle or Corgi. His head and wide chest say bully, but his long and short-legged torso say something else. Either way, his small size makes him the perfect lap dog. And if given the opportunity, he will indeed nap on your lap for hours!

As a puppy poor Buster Brown was thrown from a car and was missing a huge chunk of skin on his hip. He recieved top medical care and the scaring does not slow him down or bother him. His favorite games are with his XL Kong where he can chase or jump after the bouncing toy. He is a very athletic boy. Road rash, what road rash?

He is housetrained and crate trained. His obedience training is progressing, including mastering Sit, Off, Down, Wait and Touch. He has a nice, gentle mouth when taking treats and playing. On leash he is very curious about the world and easily excited by other animals, so needs work on staying focused and moving forward. At home he is also very curious and still learning what is and isn’t a dog toy.

During his medical treatments he was fostered with other dogs and got along well, but seems to be more of a one-dog household type of pup as he matures. That being said, he may do well with the right doggie sibling, but would need the proper introduction. Buster has had limited exposure to kids, but he generally seems calm around the ones he has met (and is more interested in their toys than them it seems). He is very friendly with all people and has a happy temperament. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his goofy charm and adorable, eternally puppy face!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
