Adopting an animal seems like you only affect the life of that one animal. How can your one adoption possibly help the overpopulations??

You DO make a difference! Read on:
There are now 140 fewer commercial breeders in the State of Missouri
than there were this time last year!
How did that happen?
The rescue community has been working diligently to take the dogs out of the horrible mill life and offer them a chance to be a dog. Patient foster homes love these dogs through a rehabilitation process which involves teaching them what house and family life are like through everyday experiences; ie, the phone ringing, dishwasher running, doors closing, etc etc.
The majority of these dogs have never tasted quality food, heard a soft voice, felt a gentle touch or have even ever felt the tickle of fresh grass under their toes. Life outside of a wire box is all new and scary at first.
People, just like you, make the choice to adopt these precious souls instead of buying a puppy from a breeder or a pet store.
The rescued dog adopter share their dog's story with other and create a ripple effect. That ripple effect is coming to fruition!
AND with increasing pressure from the
public, some legislators are beginning to enact more stringent
guidelines for commercial breeders along with enforcing stricter
penalties for those who do not follow the guidlines. Previously, the
record for enforcement of existing guidelines has been extremely poor.
Much work in this area still needs to be done, but very positive
progress is being made!
So - adopt a rescue dog and help save the world -
