Roku's foster home has this to say about him:

Roku has been a great foster who is working hard on training to become someone's forever dog. He is one of the sweetest dogs we have had. He loves to come and cuddle any time . He came to us potty trained and has had zero issues . Roku kennels at night and basically sprints to his kennel once his nightly denta-chew comes out. However, I think he would also be a good bed sleeper if you wanted as he is a fantastic couch cuddler . Typically, we kennel Roku if we are leaving the house, but have started leaving him out for trips less than an hour and he is doing great with this freedom . Roku l oves to play fetch outside and play tug-a-war inside. He knows how to sit and is working on down and stay . He loves to play with his other dog friends in the home.

Roku would need a forever home that was willing to continue working on walking nice on a leash. He is learning to walk in a halter but still gets very excited and tends to pull. Sometimes it is because he wants to lead his other dog pals, sees another dog he wants to meet or is just excited. Roku continues to improve on staying down. As a tall dog he can reach the top of counters and sometimes likes to stand up to get belly rubbed. He continues to improve but will need a forever home who will keep working on it with him.

Roku would thrive in a house with a fenced in yard or a family who had lots of space and would work on off-leash training with him as he LOVES to run . He loves to play with our family dogs and would probably do best in a household with another dog to play with or a house that would spend lots of time chasing him and playing fetch with him outside.

Roku is a gem of a dog . Whoever ends up with him is in for a treat and tons of love!

A home with older or no children would be best as childrens fast movements make him very uncomfortable.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
