Description:
Meet Lucky! Happy Lucky dog Such a joyful addition To your family! Lucky loves to eat, sleep and walk. His love for food makes him very easy to train. In three short weeks, he has learned the words stay, sit, down, come, eat, drink, wait, and off. He is not afraid of the crate, but rather finds it as his comfort zone. He goes into it even when he's free to be out of it. He is relaxed and calm whenever he is in there, which can be 9 hours long! Lucky is on an eating schedule and with him being house-trained, it's easy to predict whenever he needs to take care of his bathroom business, which is between 1 - 11/2 hours after the meal. Lucky is cautious when it comes to socializing with other dogs. Before becoming friends with the neighborhood dogs, he sniffed them out and it took three meetings before he was comfortable with them. Now that they're friends, the three of them sometimes go on walks together. He has not met cats, so it's uncertain what his reaction would be towards them. Lucky tolerates children above age 6, but gets stressed with toddlers or the sight of anyone on two-wheeled vehicles. This anxiety is probably a result of him having been previously hit by a car. Before going out the door, Lucky has learned to sit and wait until he is allowed outside, even with the door open. He loves to go on car rides, so he sits and waits until he's told to get into the car. While in the car, he also sits (or lays down). He likes to look at the driver during the car rides. The scents and sounds at new parks gets Lucky very energetic and he forgets about his human, so he tugs. However, he has been working on walking in heel position. Because he knows what sit and stop means, he does sit and wait until he's told to walk again. Once he knows an area, he can calmly walk without tugging. If someone we know approaches the house, he gives out a short woof to alert us. If we have company, he knows to quietly sit and lay down. He has not jumped on any guests and allows the humans to carry a conversation because he is mindful not to bark during their visit. Lucky's short coat makes bathing a breeze. Before he gets into the tub, he sniffs out the treats that await him. Once inside the tub, he gets many more treats for sitting through his weekly bath. His daily 15 minute grooming before bedtime makes him calm and totally relaxed. This also helps control shedding. He is one happy-go-*Lucky*-dog and is fun to train. His motivator is food and his intelligence makes training easy. The reward for consistent training and him being smart is a well-mannered dog. .
