A message from Dalia:

Hi Everybody! My name is Dalia. I'm told that I'm a sweet pup.  I love to cuddle up next to anyone on a couch, chair or the floor. My greatest fault is that I  have so much love to give in the form of kisses and snuggles.  I'd love to sit in your lap if you'll let me.  My foster mom thinks I may have had a good home at some point as I am completely house trained, but I was found on a 4 lane highway and I was saved by a good samaritan that brought to a shelter where the MARS people found me.  I'm a bit underweight right now, but hopefully will end up around 32 pounds max. Just right to still be fun and sit in your lap.

I hate to toot my own horn, but I am an incredibly smart dog and my foster momma says I'm responding well to training.  I know "sit", I come to a whistle or my name and I'm working on the "down" command now with my foster mom. I am good at walking on a leash and love going for walks.

I am still a pup at heart and do like to chew on hard bones and plastics, or occasionally a remote if it is left out ;0)  I really didn't like the kennel my foster put me in and managed to break out of it.  However, now I am perfectly fine sleeping on the couch if you leave a light on for me; you see I'm a little scared of the dark from my time spent all alone.  I would love an owner who would let me sleep with them instead!  If I have a person to comfort me I don't need the light left on.

I enjoy hanging with my dog pal Kenny and will play with him mostly when he wants. I would be great in a home without another dog if I had an owner who wanted a companion with time and attention for me. I have had no problem getting along with other dogs too, but I wouldn't mind having my human(s) all to myself either.

If you think you could be my new family please feel free to fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION to talk with my coordinator by clicking on the ADOPT button below.

Thank You!
I'll be waiting :)

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
