Description:
Blackjack and Susie were surrendered by their owner when they could no longer care for them. These two would love to stay together, if at all possible. Jack is an absolute sweetheart with lots to offer. He has made himself very much at home with his foster and with the neighborhood dogs. We had a house guest over the weekend and he even gave up his bed to the visitor and was a real gentleman when they walked together. He is totally house trained and only barks at the doorbell. He has had free range of the house and not gotten into any trouble at all. He will snuggle with you on the sofa and likes to sleep on the foot of the bed (but is content on his dog bed if barred from the sofa and/or bed). He is pretty low key indoors until you get out his fetch toys for exercise, then he's just too darned adorable jumping and chasing and chewing and even tossing them. He walks fairly well on lead but would like to go faster (even run some) than I am able but he is very adaptable with indoor exercise. He is learning to sit/stay-will sit for treats. He loves attention; petting, combing, playing or just being close to his human. He is full of southern charm and will make an awesome addition to any home. *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
