Meet Tom!

Tom is quite the character! He is middle aged, but with just the right amount of spunk!
This little guy was not taken very good care of in his previous home. He has hair loss due to flea allergies. The fleas are all gone now, and his hair is growing back nicely.
His teeth weren't in a good condition so some were pulled but it doesn't hamper Tom's appetite.

Tom is pretty confident and outgoing. He can be a bit assertive with other dogs and loves his people! He would do best in a home with no young children.

Tom is learning to accept living in a loving environment and is becoming more affectionate. At first he didn't like to be petted or picked up. Now he loves betting petted and is starting to enjoy being cuddled. He gets along well with the resident dogs after they finally accepted him into their pack. He is housetrained on a schedule and will show you that he needs to go out. Tom also seems to like his kennel. He barks at first but settles down nicely.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
