Description:

Hello,

My name is Tank, my brother Gunner and I were found in a ditch starved in pretty rough shape three months ago, along with three other litter mates Paige,Tiny Tim and Zoey.

Our siblings have all been blessed with loving homes. At the time of their arrival Gunner and I were the weakest of the five and could not travel. Were so excited for our chance to find loving families to call our own!

If your looking for a new best friend, please consider Gunner or I to be your new pal.

Smooches!

Tank ;0)

Note from Tank’s foster:

Lil Tank is an absolute sweetheart.  He loves to play with our 2 year old male puggle, Hobey.  They love to chase each other around the house and yard but he is not too rough.  I would consider him a moderate activity level dog that calms down easily when told to.  Tank is VERY gentle with our 9 and 5 year old daughters even when our 5 year old is climbing and laying on him.  We are working on jumping as he occasionally does this when he is very excited when greeting people.  He does get off with a “No”.  We have found him to respond very well to “No”.  We do allow him to fall asleep at the end of our bed but he will go to his “home” (kennel) when he is told it is bedtime.  He is crated during the day while we are at work and goes in his kennel with a little Kong and peanut butter.  Absolutely loves carrots as treats and has learned “Sit” and “Down”.  Has caught on to “Stay” and “Leave It” very well but we are still working on every day to perfect it.  He listens very well at meal time and knows he is supposed to sit and wait until given the ok to go to his dish and eat.  Tankers is a very fast learner and loves to please his owners.  He loves attention from all but especially kids.  We think we are almost there with housetraining as he has not had an accident in quite some time.  He knows that when he wants to go outside he is to ring the bell on our door knob and wait by the door.  We absolutely love taking him for walks as he has learned how to walk on a leash very quickly. Our daughters are able to walk him with no problem as he responds to “No” when pulling and quickly stops.  If we did not already have a dog, Lil Tank would be our top choice.  2 minutes with Tank and you will fall in love and have a lifelong companion.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
