Meet Wesley

Introducing Wesley aka Wes.  Wes is a special dog.

Wes is a cuddly little mixed breed doggy who LOVES people!  Wes has the brain of a Dachshund in the body of a Beagle.

It appears as though Wes has experienced significant abuse in his past. He would like to be friends with everyone but will cozy up to women first. Then once he knows the man with the women are okay he will cozy up to them.

Wesley can be soothed by lots of exercise.  He would love a home with a person/people who would take him for regular long walks or runs, and/or who would take him to doggy daycare regularly so he can play with doggie friends and work out all of his energy.

Wes would do well in a home with consistant potty breaks, and routines that will allow him to enjoy marking the out doors.

He sleeps with his foster dad all night so there is no issue with potty training overnight.

His day care says that he waits by the door or sometimes scratches the door to let them know he would like to go outside; sometimes for potty, some times for play.

Wesley is a talkative dog too.  He lets you know his emotions in a lot of ways.  He has whistles, whines, grunts, snorts and his beagle howl.  They are cute antics that make Wes the special dog he is.

Wesley’s favorite activities are: Getting attention, snuggling, chewing on toys, tug of war, walks, runs, visits to the off lead dog parks.  He walks
and runs nicely on a leash. Wes is well crate trained.  Wes  goes to doggy daycare twice a week and he has done great with other dogs there!  He has made doggy friends  with large dogs in particular, he loves to play with them!

What kind of home would Wesley do well in?  A home with older kids who will want to play with him, take him for runs and walks, and allow him to be the special dog he is.

Is your home be the loving forever home that Wesley has been waiting for?

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
