Description:

Balthazar, or Balty as his foster call him, absolutely LOVES life and everything in it! He tries to "help" with whatever task is currently going on around him. Sometimes this amusingly leads to more work for his human companions - for instance, sweeping the floor!

Just like any young dog, he's ready to have fun every day and enjoys walks and especially an outing to the dog park where he does really well. He knows dog language and will back off if a dog tells him "no playing right now." He doesn't stray too far and checks in with his fosters from time to time.

He's used to staying in his crate during the day when his foster owners go to work. He gets special crate-only toys and treats which he's always so excited about! He's very food motivated and knows sit but could easily learn other commands and activities!

He's an all around happy go lucky dog who hasn't a mean, possessive, or protective bone in his body! He's great in the car, quiet in the yard, and mellow when he has his exercise.

Balthazar did come to us with a previously untreated back leg injury, but he does not let it slow him down. We have done surgery on the leg but he will always have a limp. Balthazar does not let his leg slow him down so don't let it sway you from adopting this sweetheart.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
