Description:
Meet Bentley, Poor Bentley was been stuck at the local pound. He is a beagle/basset mix and is a really sweet boy. He is closer to the size of a larger beagle, just with a longer body. He likely put his nose to the ground and when he looked up, he was lost. Bentley is a very mellow boy. So far he hasn't been interested in treats or toys. He just wants to sniff everything and soak up any love and attention he can get. He rides nicely in the car, and was a perfect gentleman at the vet. On the way to the vet, he rode with a small female dog, and it was just like they'd known each other for years. No problems at all. He'd love to curl up on your lap on a winter night to watch a movie. He didn't understand why he was living in a cage, and sleeping on a concrete floor. When he was out of his cage, he spent his time sniffing for something familiar. He is hoping that if he sniffs enough he will find a new home. Because of his breed, he will need to have a fenced yard or always be on a leash or tie out. Bentley has secured a foster home, now he needs to find his forever home. Can you help? UPDATE FROM BENTLEY'S FOSTER: Bentley likes to spend time in his kennel and is a very quiet fellow. He does very well with our 2 cats and our dog. Bentley loves to go on walks with our other dog, he puts his nose to the ground and off we go. Bentley has not shown aggression towards any of our visitors. We have a teenager and Bentley trots to the door whenever he hears someone come into the house. He absolutely loves to sit on peoples laps. He has gone on a couple of car rides and was very relaxed. While we enjoy him being in our home we hope someone can give him his forever home soon. Bentley really deserves a wonderful home and a family to take fantastic care of him!!!! Please feel free to fill out an Adoption application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank You! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
