Meet Alex,

Alex was found wondering on the road, was picked up as a stray and ended up at a high kill shelter! Fortunately the shelter workers alerted rescues to the problem. MARS found out about this sweet boy before his time was up, and he is now here in our rescue. He is safe in a foster home while he searches for his new forever home.

Alex's stubby tail never stops wagging. He is very friendly and loving. He is just looking for a second chance at life. Can you help?

UPDATE FROM ALEX'S FOSTER:Alex is such a lover. Sometimes he gets a little affection cranky! If I am petting Mozart(canine foster brother), he will sometimes get mad and butt his way in to be petted also. Otherwise he is very relaxed and laid back, until he gets outside! Then he has TONS of energy and will run laps around the back yard. He MUST have a fenced in backyard. He does not have any sort of training, not even sit. So we are working on that, he also likes to jump up on you because he loves people so much, which we are also working on. We are kenneling him when we leave, because he likes to get a hold of the kids' toys and he also will jump on the furniture if you aren't looking! . He is absolutely GREAT with the kids(3&1). He will let them lay on him, play with him, pet, pull around on the leash around the house. I do think he was neglected or abused in some way, he tries to hide sometimes and we will find him curled up by the front door. or he has just never really been around people. Anyways, he is a good boy, who really just needs training! He would like to go to a home with kids since he does so well with mine! He just wants to be a part of a family!

Although Alex is great with kids, he should not be in a family where the kids can accidentally let him out the door. He will run given the chance. A fenced yard is required for this boy. He would also do well in a home that can take him to obedience classes and continue working on training and manners.
