Description:
Hi, my name is Astro! I was stuck in jail, and had to sleep on a concrete floor. It was really a drag. What was a happy go lucky boy like me, doing in a place like that? I don't know either! I'm a beautiful husky boy. I love belly rubs, and getting my hair brushed! There's nothing better than a nice brushing to make me look cute, and feel nice! So far I haven't been too interested in toys...but who wants toys when there are people around to pet me! I am now in a wonderful foster home who will care for me while I search for my new forever home. I would love to meet you. Love, Astro UPDATE FROM ASTRO'S FOSTER: He is really doing well, especially improving his manners.. will definately need some obedience training this spring for jumping and eating off the table! He has some anxiety issues when seperated from his owners. He does really well with the other dogs in the neighborhood and still does NOT like cats...at all! He has learned to sit, stay and sing (howl) when commanded. He is loosing his undercoat, so is shedding a lot, but loves to be brushed...;0) He really enjoys the walks to the park and playing with kids....especially younger ones. He loves to bury and then "find" his buried toy. He has completed all his medicine for Lyme's and seems to be building up his energy level after a long winter. We have learned recently, that he does not like deer or venison meat. As a matter of fact, he is terrified of the smell. A perfect home would be somewhere he can run in a fenced yard and play with other dogs or kids, but then cuddle inside with his family. He loves fires and enjoys hotdogs that have fallen off the stick. He really is a joy to have and hope that he finds a home that appreciates how sweet he really is. Please feel free to fill out an Adoption application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank You! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
