Meet Sofie (also spelled as Sophie)!

Sophie is a delightful pup! Give this girl a fenced yard and she smiles as she races from one end to the other! Toys? She will play with any toy that she can find and if there is not another dog or person to play with... she is content to play by herself! Sophie LOVES other dogs and would love a canine playmate however, if she has a person to cuddle with and go on walks with she is just as happy.

Sophie makes friends with EVERYONE and is such a beautiful girl -inside and out!

She is a true hound and loves to smell everything when she is outside. She is very quiet and hasn't barked yet in her foster home. She does pull a bit when walking, but she just can't contain her excitement!

Sophie is working on learning a housetraining routine and will need consistent reinforcement.

Sophie likes to curl up on the couch while watching tv, and sleeps in bed with her foster human sister at night. She wanders into her kennel on her own, however isn’t real interested in being placed in there. She is really smart, we are sure with continued loving support she will master that as well.

Sophie has been really respectful of the cats in her foster home. She wants to play, but they aren’t too sure, she lets them lead, if they growl she walks away, she even waited for one of them to finish their moist-treat, before going in the kitchen for a drink of water.

She will be a great addition to the family who wants to love and teach her! Her foster mom brushed her for 20 minutes today, she was in heaven!!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
