Meet Alaric!

Alaric is doing great! We’ve actually been calling him “scoob” because the kids think he looks like scooby doo. :)

When we first got him he was very afraid. If my toddler dropped her spoon on the ground he would jump. He’s doing so much better now. He is amazing with all three of my kids (one being as young as 10 months). He gives endless amount of kisses ♥️ he LOVES to cuddle! He curls up and will just lay with you for hours.

He’s about 80% potty trained. We let him out 20 minutes after he eats and every hour when we are home. When he goes outside we give him a treat so he’s catching on very quickly. We still don’t let him roam the house when we aren’t home and at night he’s in his kennel. The longest he’s in his kennel is 6 hours and he does fine but needs to be let out right away.

He really doesn’t chew on anything but his toys - kind of amazing for a puppy. I have leather couches and they are still completely intact. He’s definitely not a barker. He has “come” down. He likes little walks but for the most part he is an indoor dog. Maybe it’s the cold weather but he really only wants to be outside to go to the bathroom.

I’ve brought him around my sisters dog and they played well together. He was wiped out the next day and even a little sore from all the playing. I think he would do great with a dog friend. He needs to be at a house with a lot of love and snuggles to give!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
