PATIENT, LOVING HOME NEEDED FOR THIS SPECIAL GIRL!

Hi, My name is Dolly,

I have had a rough time finding a home to care for me lately. I was in the pound, and luckily MARS stepped in and saved my life. I was so happy to be out and went to a foster home that was going to care for me until my new permanent home could be found. Sadly, that didn't happen the way it was supposed to. You see, I LOVE kids! They are the light of my life and unfortunately the little boy I was living with didn't feel the same way about me and he didn't want to have anything to do with me anymore. They decided I could not stay with them any longer. I need a home with a 6 ft privacy fence or taller (I can climb right over chain link fences), or be on a tie-out or leash when I am outside.

I want to tell you some more about me so here we go...I LOVE kids!! Sometimes I knock them down because I get so excited but that's because I love them so much. I would love to have some kids to play with all the time! That would be the greatest thing in the whole world. I also love other dogs that like to play and wrestle with me! I have only met a cat or 2 in my time and am not sure what I think of them, so I would probably do best without them. The other thing I have to tell you is that I am deaf so that's why I need a "special" home. It doesn't slow me down at all, I just need some one with patience to help me learn. I am starting to learn some hand signals right now.I would really love someone to take me to training to help us learn together. Having another dog around would really be helpful since I can watch her and learn what to do. I would also benefit from a vibrating training collar, especially outside to help get my attention. I would hate to miss out on anything because I cant hear you calling me! The other things you should know are that I am totally potty trained, and crate trained(although I don't like to spend too much time in one, I would rather be with you!).

I would love to come join your family so please fill out an application right away!!

Hugs & Kisses,
 Dolly

Note from foster:

Dolly is a great dog. She is full of energy and spunk and is a perfect companion for playful kids. She definatly loves to run and wrestle, but will calm down when it is needed. She loves attention and could sit all day and have her tummy rubbed. She is kennel trained and rarely barks. Dolly does not hear well, however she responds to the vibrations she feels, this could be why she does little barking. In the weeks I have had her she has never once grabbed food off the table/counter/garbage, no accidents in the house and she knows not to get on the furniture. She is great with other dogs and wants to play with them and loves meeting them on her walks. I think Dolly would do great in a home with energetic kids who like to be out doors to play ball and run around and maybe another dog to play with. Whoever adopts her will be VERY lucky to have her in their family!

URGENT: Dolly needs a temporary foster home, while we work to find a forever home. We cover all authorized medical expenses.

You simply provide a safe, loving home!

Why not take this opportunity to make a huge difference in the life of a sweet dog who needs some help?

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
