Description:
Meet Adalia! When she is not cuddling, she loves to play with the resident dog. The two of them wrestle, play tug-a-war, and chase like crazy. They especially love playing in the snow. Adalia is very cautious about new situations and nervous about noises but she warms up quickly and wiggles with excitement when new people pet her. She would do best in a home without small energetic children.
Adalia is still young and learning her manners but is a motivated learner when treats are involved. She has learned the "come" command and is working on "sit", "down", and not jumping when she gets excited.
Adalia is also learning to walk on a leash and is doing well, although she pulls a bit at the beginning. She is kennel trained and does not seem to mind it once she is in.
Adalia has a cute little habit of collecting things. She likes to gather items from around the house (socks, slippers, towels, etc.) and piles them up near her bed. She does not destroy or chew on them, she just likes to collect them and have them near her.
Adalia has the head of a dachshund, with big, floppy ears that are super soft. She has a strong and muscular body with a beautiful brindle coat and some white spots on her chest. Please feel free to fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION by clicking on the button below.
When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
