Meet Kirby!

Kirby is a great little dog! He loves to play with people and other dogs but also loves a good hug and cuddle session.

Kirby has a lot of energy despite his “size” and is happy to be running around the yard and playing fetch. He, also, likes chewing on his nylabone and chasing his foster brother.

Kirby is very sweet, but a bit shy until he knows he can trust you. Once he does he gives the sweetest kisses and is just so huggable! He’s so cute when he turns his head from side to side when you talk to him.

Kirby is interested in the resident cat, although the cat hisses and bops him on the head. Even so, he has shown no animosity towards her.

Kirby does walk on leash however he can get spooked easily by strangers approaching or loud noises. A securely fenced yard, or being taken outside on a leash, would be best initially as he continues to gain confidence in his new home.

Kirby would prefer to sleep on his human's bed if he has a choice. He is not a barker and is great at letting you know when he needs to be let out.

Kirby has not been around children but is very playful and social.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
