Description:
Meet Schulz aka Peanut has that typical toy breed timid, cautious behavior at first . Understandably so, he’s tiny and wants to be sure he’s safe. The first few days in foster care Peanut was timid, yet curious about the other small dogs in the home. Once he realized everyone is friendly, he’s just one of the pack. Peanut is good in his crate while his foster is at work and at night. He is not a big barker, either. On his initial tinkle mistake, I caught him midstream. At first in his foster home for several days he was very hesitant to potty outdoors. He was more relaxed doing his business on the driveway, or sidewalk. Once he got the hang of the home schedule and watched the other dogs outside he relaxed and started potty-ing in the flower beds, etc. While he is not fully trustworthy on his housetraining he is off to a great start. Peanut has a great appetite and is a food motivated learner. He walks okay on leash, but again, he’s timid with each new thing introduced to him. So his home will need patience while he gains trust and confidence. Peanut has not been tested with any children and because he is so timid initially and scares from loud noise he will likely do best in a kid free home with at least one other small dog to learn from and bond with.
