Meet Katrinka! She didn't get a fair start to life, so she does deal with anxiety/fear. She will need a home that will be patient while she takes her time to warm up to you and a new environment. When she does, be prepared as you just made a new best friend! She'll meet you at the door with a big goofy smile, a wagging tail and continue to follow you around the house! She is comfortable around kids in the home, currently living with a busy 4 & 7 year old at her foster home. Skip the fancy treats and toys, this girl likes the luxury of soft dog beds, plenty of naps and an abundance of belly rubs! Don't worry, she's figured out how to communicate, she wants a scratch. So, be prepared for her to give you her paw followed by her big brown eyes begging "pleeease"! She has good house manners to add to her resume. Katrinka is working on continuing to build up her confidence on the leash. Her current favorite thing to do (after naps and scratches of course!) is hanging out on the deck to peacefully watch people in the sun.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
