I would like to introduce you to Kaida. She is a special needs pup. She is happy and loving, but has some special medical needs and we are looking for that special foster or adoptive home that understands these needs and can give her a happy ever after.
See she had surgery before arriving to MN and although they tried, they did not fix her issue. We had her go to the U of M and they did a second surgery and fixed as much as they could but she will always have stool issues. They are much better and with a special diet and management, she can have a great life.
Here is what the U said at her check up: She continues to ooze some soft stool out of the right side of the rectum. ( This was present when tail lifted during exam) The mucocutaneous junction is healed but there is no anal sphincter palpable on the right side. She has two large poops daily and doesn't drop stool often until later on when softer stool oozes out of the right side ( about a 1/2 tablespoon. ) This needs to be cleaned off the perianal area otherwise it drops where ever she maybe standing.
Here is what she will need in her home: She need to be put on a low residue diet that only forms firm stool that is easier to clean up after and doesn't stick on her fur.
There is no surgical fix anymore. So we now need to find that special someone for this special girl.
She is good with other dogs and kids. She does like to own her bones and food, so she will need to be worked with on that.
Are you that special angel??
PETFINDER VIEWERS: Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.org
*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!
