Meet Tucker!

Tucker was picked up by the police in Mankato, MN during the month of late
March or early April; He was housed in the basement of the MPH for
approximately 2 months, in a kennel. A family adopted him the first week
of June. Tucker was a loving dog, great with kids of all ages, including
the adopters resident kids and nieces and nephews, ages 3-14.

The is kennel trained.  He loves his walks, the dog parks, the neighbor's dogs and loved going up North and was great in the boat with them. He was so mellow after running around up North and having freedom. He was fine with the cats, just wanting to play. From the first day he was there, he pointed at their pet rabbits, and barked and tried to get in their cages. They were hoping and trying to expose him little by little so he would know they were family. Sadly, he and the bunnies just can't be together, Tucker is a true hunter.

Update From Tuckers Emergency Foster:

Tucker has been in an emergency foster home since being surrendered. Now that all the paper work has been dealt with he is now ready to go home. He is a great, loving, big oaf of a dog! He is sweet with the kids and all other dogs. We obviously aren't going to set him up for failure so, homes without cats only please! He has been staying in a crate and out of the crate with no worries. He is a big boy so make sure you are ready for a large friend to hang out with!

URGENT: Tucker needs a temporary foster home, while we work to find a forever home. We cover all authorized medical expenses.

You simply provide a safe, loving home!

Why not take this opportunity to make a huge difference in the life of a sweet boy who needs some help?

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
