Description:
Kitana is (likely) Corgi mixed with some type of Terrier. She's a shorthair dog with a minimal undercoat. She doesn't shed a tremendous amount but there will be hair. She's spent most of her life as a momma in rural Oklahoma, before coming to Minnesota. Kitana is an incredibly affectionate girl and loves to give you kisses, either on your clothes or bare skin. She's loyal to a fault and is fiercely protective of her person and would do best in an adult only home. Kitana has an incredibly bubbly personality when she's in the mood for playtime which is fairly often. She has a lot more energy than you might think! She adores extremely long walks. She loves to play fetch and will almost always bring the toy/ball back to you, practically begging for you to throw it again as she pushes it into your leg. If it's a toy, she loves to throw it around herself, and loves when you do a bit of tug-o-war with her before throwing. Kitana is an extremely inquisitive girl and loves to sniff nearly every single thing that comes across her path. She's an extremely prey-driven girl as well. She can and will chase, dig, and kill small game unless otherwise restrained (mice, vole, squirrel, etc.). When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
