Description:
Meet me at IKEA! I'll be there on Saturday 8-29 from 3 to 5pm. FOSTER UPDATE: Benny is our first experience with a Basset Hound, and it has been delightful. Benny is shy with new people but warms quickly. Benny loves our three beagles and cats and finds comfort and direction from them. He is not housetrained but has had only one accident (he didn't want to go outside in the rain). Benny follows the other dogs outside when it's time for a potty break. He sleeps all night long on a doggy bed in the bedroom. Benny loves to play with the dogs, cats and toys and, at times, can be mischievous. He is afraid to go downstairs but can slowly get upstairs and onto the couch. Every day he makes us smile. Benny is a sweetheart and a joy. Watch the video of my release! Benny came from a rural puppy mill. He had never lived a day of his life as a normal pet in a home, with the love and attention a pet deserves. It is possible he had never even been petted in his life. He was rescued from that terrible life, but now he needs a special family to help him learn what it is like to be a dog. Because Benny is from a rural breeder, he will more than likely not be housetrained. He will also need help with socialization and adjusting to life in a home environment. Fenced yards and a home with other stable dogs to show them the ropes are best for dogs coming from this type of situation. Find out how rewarding it can be to teach this poor boy how to love and be loved. Please feel free to fill out an ADOPTION or FOSTER APPLICATION on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank You! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
