Description:
Chloe is a charming little girl who will keep you laughing with her fun and loving personality.
She is fully potty trained and knows how to use potty pads if you’re unable to take her outside for an extended amount of time. When not by your side, her favorite spot to be is perched on the back of the couch, surveying her dominion. Chloe is reactive to new noises when she cannot see the source and we are working on teaching her an ‘inside voice’ command, but she would not do well in an apartment due to door slams, hallway voices, and noises coming from neighbors.
This girl loves going on walks and joining you for errands - she is just so fascinated about everything going on in the world and wants to be a part of your daily life.
If you think Chloe can’t get any cuter, just wait till you see her with a sweater on! She enjoys wearing clothes because she is prone to getting cold easily and will also snuggle up under the covers at night if you let her. This little lady gets along well with other dogs and generally tends to ignore the resident cat. She also interacts very well with kids at public events. Chloe was abandoned alongside another dog (Meghan, MARS ID 20644), and while they are not required to be adopted together, we feel very strongly that Chloe will thrive in a home with another dog and/or an owner who spends most of their days at home. She forms strong attachments to the animals and people in her life, and would not do well in an environment where she is left alone a lot. Chloe has been diagnosed with a condition called megaesophagus. She is currently doing well, is not underweight, and shows no signs of pneumonia. She does currently regurgitate a couple of times a day while we are figuring out her best method of treatment, but you would not otherwise be aware of her condition. She is not a fan of the specialized Bailey chair, so she eats on a step stool to assist with the digestive process. We are also experimenting with different food consistencies to identify what agrees most with her body. This condition will require lifelong maintenance and careful monitoring for aspiration pneumonia, but it should not overall affect her quality of life or shorten her lifespan. Chloe is a perky and charming pup is sure to brighten up any family that she joins! *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.
*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
