Description:

Marshmellow, AKA Melly, is a good-natured girl who learns pretty quickly. She seems to be completely house trained and seems to be fine with the resident cat. Melly does tend to be a bit jumpy when meeting new people and may, inadvertently, knock a small child over with her enthusiasm. Melly can, also, be a bit vocal when she wants something or is left alone. Therefore, an apartment might not be her ideal home.

Melly gets along well with one of the resident dogs in her foster home, but has had some differences with the other, larger, dog from time to time. She doesn’t always seem to want to engage with other dogs and would likely do well as an only dog in the home.

Melly would probably do well with a harness since she is still learning to walk nicely, but she watches and has learned signals to wait at corners or change directions. She is learning to sit before receiving a treat, and waits her turn patiently. She likes to be near her foster and sleeps quietly at the foot of the bed.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
