Description:

Elvis settled in pretty easily to foster care. He is getting along with the other resident dogs but does try to steal everyone's food. He also tries to monopolize the fosters attention and personal space. He mostly ignores the cats but does like to give them a good sniff when he sees them.

He walks nicely on leash, matching the speed of the other dogs but does need some work on not wrapping himself around ankles in excitement when he sees a squirrel.

He went on an adventure to the local dog park and did great meeting people, including kids, and other dogs. Had a blast playing with other dogs in the fenced enclosure.

At home he hasn't barked much except to join other dogs barking at the mailman. He does like to chew so it’s important he has appropriate things to chew on.

Elvis seems very smart, adaptable and high energy-it might be good for him to have another dog to play with and/or have a hobby like agility.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
