Description:
Hi there, I’m Duncan! I’m gentle, silly, and a little quirky—the kind of companion who will keep you smiling with my super sweet heart and funny little meows. I’m a social butterfly still learning to fully spread my wings! I want to greet you, rub up on you, play with you, and get lots of attention, pets, and neck scratches. But as I’m learning, I still have a touch of shyness… sometimes I dart away at sudden movements or new noises, but don’t worry—I’ll come back quickly! And I think I’ll grow out of this as my confidence just continues to grow and grow. I love hanging out near my people. My favorite spot is on my foster mom’s work desk, where I supervise… until I get distracted by purring, biscuit-making, and eventually napping. My favorite things include any and all toys (I’ll chase them with gusto!), looking out the patio door (imagining myself chasing squirrels in the backyard), and zoomies (because sometimes life just calls for a burst of energy). My absolute favorite thing in the whole world is squeeze tube treats. Seriously, I’ll forget about everything else when those come out! My ideal home is with someone who will give me time to adjust as I reach my full potential. Once I settle in, I’m fine with new people and kids, too. A cat friend would be wonderful—I like other kitties and would love a buddy to play with. If you’re ready to welcome a gentle, funny, quirky kitty who will reward your love with endless purrs, playtime, and zoomies, I think we’ll be the perfect match. * Kittens under 4 months tend to do best in homes with another cat or kitten for socialization. If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
