Description:

Meet Princess Nadia.  This poor girl has one heck of a story to tell but refuses to live in the past and can't wait to meet her forever family.

Nadia is timid when first meeting people and startles easily so she will require a home with children over the age of 13.

She loves to play ball, walks great on a leash and loves to explore.  She is wonderful with other dogs and cats.

A fenced yard is a MUST for this girl.

Here is an update from Nadia's foster family:

Nadia came to us just 4 weeks ago as per above it wasn’t the best situation.   She has come a long way in the 4 weeks she has been with us and is acting more and more like a dog each day, even showing excitement when you get home!

Nadia was nervous at first about her new home and all the animals.  She is now best friends with all of the dogs, 3 total, and leaves the cats alone (just look at the videos).  She is crate trained and knows sit and lay down.  She walks well on a leash and is excited to ride in the truck.

I took Nadia on a Home Visit with me, yes a new situation.   They had 2 little girls one 6 and one 3.   She let them pet her and hug her.   She was a little nervous when they got too excited though.   But she is a big girl and still has some puppy in her, so she would have to be watch around small kids so she doesn’t knock them over.

Nadia is very loving and loves human attention.    She will make some very lucky family a great friend!...

UPDATE from Nadia's adoptive family, 8/6/12:

Nadia's the sweetest puppy dog ever!   She's been going to garage sales with me on Saturdays and meeting new people, and she goes to Sunday picnics, too - and loves hot dogs!

Here's some big surprise news:   Nadia will have a new pack-mate at the end of November/beginning of December - we're having a girl!   She's curious about the baby items that are coming into the house and lays at the foot of the crib while the cat lays in it.   It'll be a welcome challenge to integrate the new pack member without too much jealousy by the others!

Nadia's personality has really come out - she loves to dig through her basket of toys to find the particular one she seems to have in mind, then bring it to us to play with.   She loves to fetch the toy and throw it in the air.   She also loves to destroy tennis balls.   She's learning to stay back while we are eating, but she would rather be right in our faces.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
