Yeah!!!! I have been adopted! I have a great forever home. Thanks to my foster mom for getting me ready to meet my new family and thanks to my new family with brothers and sisters and everything!!! Meet Andy. Andy was next in line at the pound for euthanasia but a desperate volunteer who had fallen in love with him called our rescue group at the last moment and asked if we'd save him. Andy is about 8 to 10 months old and you are going to LOVE this boy's personality! He is one of those dogs who will melt your heart! He is friendly, affectionate and very playful. Andy weighs about 30 pounds and only stands about 12" high - he's basically a black lab dressed up in a Bassett Hound suit! HOW CUTE IS THAT? He LOVES other dogs and cats! Andy's foster Mom occasionally cares for another dog close to Andy's age and they play constantly. (Sounds like he'd do best in a home with another dog similar in age?) Andy is accustomed to staying in his crate during the day while his foster parents are at work and he has not had one accident. He will need a little help learning not to pull when he is leash walked. Andy's foster Mom says... "He is what I call an "appropriate barker". He barks only when strangers come near my yard and my other dogs are barking. He LOVES the snow and he really, really likes toys of any kind. He is a shoe stealer, but that's our fault! Now we put our shoes in the closet where they belong! : ) He is very smart, extremely sweet, young in most respects, a bit fearful of men and will duck when my husband bends down to pet him. Andy has super smart eyes. The ones that go straight through to your very soul. He will need to find a family that can appreciate all that he truly is." When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.
