Description:

Hi everyone my name is Anubis. Let me start by telling you a bit about
myself. I am a happy, handsome, fun loving fella who loves to be with
people. My time was almost up when MARS and my foster decided to save
my life! I'm incredibly thankful that they decided to give me a shot and am
trying to be the best dog ever (even though I am a tiny bit stubborn).

When I came to live with my foster mom I didn't know anything other than sit.I wasn't sure of toys, espeially the squeaky ones. Now I know I abosolutely love tearing apart them squeaky things and tennis balls too.

I can sit with a command and hand signal.  I know how to stay, even though I'm not too fond of it, I'm afraid that I might miss something...like a piece of food falling on the floor.  When it's time too eat I run too the rug to sit and patiently wait for my
food.  I even wait until I'm given the comand to eat.  My foster mom
was impressed on how quickly I picked this trick up. Car rides are good
too.  When I first came here I had to be lifted into the car but now I
find them really enjoyable.  I ride nice until you get out and then I
climb into your seat and wait for you.

Some of my favorite things are getting my back scratched, snuggling on the couch or in the bed and stretching out.  My foster mom thinks it's a hoot when I stretch out on the bed and slide off. I love playing with my foster sister. We're not
allowed to play in the house, but when we think mom's not looking we
try and sneak it in.  I do get a little possessive of my yard when new
dogs come in, so it's best to have meet anyone new in a nuetral area.
I crate well for the work day.  But you have to make sure you get the
crate shut all the way or I will sneak out.  My foster mom learned the
hard way, but was really impressed when she came home and saw that I
behaved all day out on my own.

I have a lot of energy and a lot of love to give. I absolutely love people.  I am good with kids, but when I get excited I like to nibble (and jump, but I'm working on that). I would love someone to go on walks and runs with.  I also need someone
that has knowledge of my breed and knows that I need a strong leader to
make me an even better dog than I already am.  Dog school would be a
good way to help me with that.  Do you have room in your home for a
loving dog like me? I cant wait to meet you!

Puppy kisses,
Anubis

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
