Description:
Meet Betty Boop! Betty Boop was picked up as a stray and taken to an over crowded no kill shelter in Ohio where there are many dogs running loose. She is a very shy, timid girl and her sweet gentle temperament got her in trouble with the other dogs. She was severely attacked by the other dogs. She had to be kept in a small confined area of the shelter to keep her safe. If she were to accidentally get into the population of dogs again, it would have been likely that she would have been killed. We saved her though, she is here in Minnesota and in a very loving foster home. Betty Boop has been through the prison obedience training program and she is truly and angel. She is almost delicate, very feminine, and dainty. She has a very soft personality, melt your heart eyes and is just an all around great girl. She is good with cats, kids and other dogs (that are non aggressive). Other than being very scared and shy at first, she is nearly the perfect dog. She got the name Betty Boop because of the heavy mascara-like markings around her eyes. Betty Boop is just a sweet little girl in a very bad place that has been a threat to her life. She needs lots of love and TLC to help build her confidence. There is not a negative aspect to this lovely girl other than being a little bit scared and needing to spend some "alone time". She is loving and sweet, fully housetrained, and gets along fabulously with our cat, Yorkie, and 2 year old. She startles easily from loud noises or quick movements, but is warming up to us and is the most gentle sweetheart of a dog! She never jumps up, she knows "sit", and is slowly but surely learning to come when called. She would make a great companion/addition to ANY household! Won't you consider helping a scared girl in need? Please feel free to fill out an Adoption Application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank You! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
