Meet Camden
Camden is a darling little ”munchkin” who was picked up as a stray and no one came to claim him. He knows sit, stay, walks on a leash and appears to be potty trained. Camden loves to give great kisses!! Sadly his prior owners did not keep him on heartworm prevention so he has tested positive for heartworms. The good news is, now in rescue we can treat him! Heartworm is very common and we routinely and successfully treat it every month in our rescue. Camden is a SWEET boy! He walks well on a leash, but he's a runner/explorer, so definitely not an off leash kind of dog. He LOVES people, and is great with children. He has gotten along well with my 2 white German Shepherds and my boyfriend's lab. Don't know about cats. He isn't a fan of his crate but will settle down after a bit.
He does have a little resource guarding issue - he likes to get "all the attention" & can hog it when my dogs are around & getting equal attention. He has been on his own for so long can you really blame him? He doesn't quite know his name, but he'll be getting a new one anyway! He will sit 'pretty', but as a little guy, he has a hard time keeping his front paws down. He will also walk/hop around on his back legs - cute stuff!! He likes to chase tennis balls and steals the dog's stuffed critters! House trained? Well, he hasn't had an accident in the house, however I work full time and he can't make it all day in the crate. My fault, really, not his!
He is just a love and wants people to love him! He'll be a great little guy for someone!

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
