Meet Snuggle

SNUGGLE’S UPDATE FROM FOSTER:

Snuggle and his brother Stevie are adorable, sweet-natured little puppies. As they are only 7-8 weeks old, they are spending a lot of time sleeping — curling up with each other or resting their chins on our feet. When they wake up, they’re in full puppy play mode, and they love playing with each other or with us. They are equal-opportunity pups, showing love for all the people in the house, kids and adults alike, enjoying attention and petting from everyone.

Snuggle is well-named — while both puppies love to cuddle, we think Snuggle likes it the most. He loves gentle belly rubs and will roll over to give you full access to his tummy.

We have begun housetraining, and Snuggle and Stevie are currently eating 3 meals per day. As they are still so young, they need to be let out of their kennel throughout the night to potty —
Happy to report that as of last night we're now down to just one nighttime wake-up session for the puppies to pee and poop (2 am). Then we let them out at 6 am when we get up for the day.
. They love their kennel! We have it set up with a cuddly towel and a few of our old shirts. During the day, when we are with them, we have their kennel doors open, and we have a hexagonal “superyard” set up around it, so they can play & run around, and when they want to rest, they take themselves into their kennel & curl up for a snooze, so it has become their top choice spot for napping. This positive association they now have for their kennel has made it easier at nighttime and for when we need to kennel them when we can’t be right there with them.

Snuggle and Stevie came into rescue with their mom, Lucille, who was a good mama to them. But the three dogs needed help getting healthy, as the people who had had them couldn’t care for them properly. The puppies are eating and drinking well, and we’re working with the vet to get their health on track with meds and good food. These little guys are so lovable, they will make wonderful family members in their new forever homes.

Do you have room in your home and your heart for this little guy?

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
