Description:
Meet Littleman Little Man, or Franklin as we like to call him, is loving his foster home. He is an absolute riot and makes us laugh every day. He loves to be pet and to snuggle up with you. He loves to play with his toys, especially rope and squeak toys. He will need durable toys though because, like most dachshunds, he will get carried away and tear a hole in soft ones. He also loves to chew on rawhides. He loves to play with our dog and had an absolute blast at the dog park. He spend the whole time chasing a doberman. It was quite the sight. Franklin is still needing work on his houstraining. He does well when kept on a consistent potty break schedule. However, he will still have accidents if left alone or not let out soon enough. We are trying to teach him to tell us when he has to go out and he is making progress. He does great in his crate and sleeps there at night and stays in it during the day. He will often take his toys or bones into his crate and sit in it even when he isn't told to. Franklin also has very minimal barking. He only really barks when he is trying to get the resident dog to play with him. He know many basic commands yet but we are working on them. He does however respond very well to the word NO. He has been a wonder addition to our home and will be to yours as well! Please fill out an application by clicking below

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
