Description:

 Meet Biscuit!

Hi there! My name is Biscuit and I am a young Terrier mix. I am a little shy and reserved when you first meet me.   When I do warm up,  I am the sweetest guy ever.   I just love to be petted and will roll right over for belly rubs.   I would do best in a quieter home without small children.

People who meet me really like me.  They call me cute, and I think they're right!  I'm friendly towards other dogs.  When I'm outside and you want me to come to you, call out Bisquit!, get closer to the ground and clap your hands, and see me run fast like a rocket towards you.  I just want to please you and show you I'm a good boy.

That kennel thing? Honestly, I'm not crazy about it.  But, if you please please let me cuddle up next to you on the couch, that would make my day!

I am glad to be getting out of the shelter, but sure would like to find a forever home!

Update from the foster home:

Biscuit is wonderful!  He has settled in and is the sweetest little boy.  He loves playing with his foster canine brother Scooter.  They run and chase each other and play tug.   He has even gotten my puppy mill Shiba Inu to mouth him a little bit and she has no clue how to play with any dog.

He and Scooter are monkey see, monkey do.  If one is being petted, the other has to get their share.  While Biscuit would enjoy another dog in his home, he would also enjoy getting all of the attention.  A dog-savvy person or family are recommended for him - those who know to be patient and not to overwhelm a dog.  Biscuit may act nervous when first meeting new people and even bark at them.  Once he feels comfortable (takes about 60 seconds), then he is jumping up and happy for attention.  He enjoyed meeting the foster's 10-year-old granddaughter.  Biscuit went on a field trip to PetsMart with two other dogs and he did really well.  He was very friendly, not barky or scared.

Biscuit is hoping that his future person or family are OK with him being on the couch and the bed, because he loves to snuggle and be by his people.

We've determined that Biscuit is just about the perfect dog.  He met everyone at Christmas, including little kids, with no problems.  He barks for a nanosecond, then he's ready to sniff and be petted.  Everybody loved him and couldn't figure out why he was still in foster care.  He's adorable, delightful and fun!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
