Alfred is a darling 5 lb Chihuahua. House trained and crate trained. Alfred is very shy when he meets you. It takes him awhile to decide you are OK. Once that happens he is your buddy, he loves to sit and cuddle with you. Especially if you have his blanket. Alfred and his foster sister Dachshund spend most evenings napping on their mom's lap. He gets along well with his foster brothers and sisters. Alfred receives his meals in his crate because likes to hide his food and will go back to eat it later. Alfred wears a warm coat outside now that the weather is cold. When he is finished with his outside business, he will put his two front paws on your leg, hoping you will pick him up and maybe he can catch a ride back inside in your arms. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
