Meet Houston
VERY sweet & affectionate
Gets along well with other dogs
Tremendously gentle & patient with young children
Enjoys: Car rides, a good game of fetch, playing with other dogs
Will keep himself occupied with a good rawhide bone
Loves to cuddle up & gives lots of puppy kisses!

Houston is still young and will need basic obedience - he's smart & willing to learn.

He is working on house training. We think his former family must've kept him as an outdoor dog as he seems to like it best outdoors.
When he barks, it is very little and only when it's appropriate/expected of a dog.

He's the perfect size for apartment or small home living.

He's proven to be an escape artist and quickly figured out how to dig out from under his fosters fencing.
Supervised trips outside (even with a fence), a zip line/tether or leashed walks will be best for him.
Likely his skills at escape are what landed him in the doggie jail that MARS sprung him from.

With just a little bit of invested time & devotion, Houston will make a phenomenal family member.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
