Meet Topher!

Topher is happy and lives in the moment. He likes soft warm places and he will do anything for a snack. Topher is quiet as a mouse. Even his barks are quiet unless it's really something important. This handsome fellow craves touch and wants to be a part of everything. Luckily he does NOT have separation anxiety. Topher kennels well during the day and if children come over. He will kennel himself at the end of the night without a fuss if a treat is involved. =)

Topher eats and uses the restroom by the clock. Adjust his time to your schedule and he will adapt like a pro. He loves walks and in the evening he will often do his duty then. Topher is a very low shed boy so we take him to the groomer occasionally for a trim. During the winter he is used to wearing a sweater, and during the summer he enjoys a nice short cut to keep cool while we read together on the porch. He won't read, but I think he looks at the pictures.

Topher went to obedience school, but I think he kind of feels the "Heeling thing" is against his religion. We don't allow him on furniture, but that doesn't mean he doesn't sit patiently in front of you pleading with his eyes for just one moment on your lap (that may be because I cheat sometimes). My other name for him is "Sampson" and "Puppy," but he knows himself as Topher also. While he may be mature in years, Topher has a lot of love left to give and plans on living much longer to share it with his forever family.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
