Description:
Bogart seems to have spent most of his time as an outside dog/garage dog. He really likes a huge fenced in backyard and would prefer to have his neighbors not right on top of him, in case they don’t like the way he sings. Right now Bogart is not crated and sleeps in a small confined area and is quite comfortable and sleeps well. Bogart is of course a Beagle/Bassett and will follow his nose. He will need some more training on taking long walks as when he finds a scent he is really interested in, he will not want to continue until he has all the information he can get from that scent. Lots of yummy smells in his world! Even in the backyard his nose is always down to the ground looking for a something to smell. Once found he will bay and bay to let you know he has found the perfect smell. He may pretend that he cannot hear you when you ask him to quit singing, so making sure you find something better to redirect him. Hence why a little room between neighbors is a good thing. Bogart likes the rain, which makes it really nice for bathes. He just stands there and looks up at you with his adorable wrinkly face. Bogart is AWESOME with other dogs, both big and small. Bogart likes to cuddle but is also very happy to curl up on his blanket and just relax by himself. Bogart will share his food and has no problem with his human hands by it, and seems more interested in food or treats at meal time
When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.
