 Meet Thanos!

Thanos, Thanos, Thanos... A smart and eager-to-please pup that is happiest when he has a job. Any job! Something to focus on and channel his positive energy into. Stretch the definition of "job" if you have to. Let your imagination, interests, and current chores be your guide! Thanos is a puppy that will give as much as he gets. A dog who will make you proud.

Here at the foster home his successful jobs to-date have been: Therapy service dog (in training) at the local assisted living home, hard-working student during training sessions, sock courier from top of stairs to washroom, icebreaker with new potential friends for a shy 4 year old, humoring handler during agility practice, stick collector, responsibility reminder from kennel (he will not be forgotten!), helping shy dogs find their confidence, and trick performer for guests.

Thanos is a large puppy who is in the sweet spot for training. His attention span is longer and he understands more complicated commands. Thanos has GREAT recall and would be a wonderful dog to bring along camping or go on road trips with. Right now he is also the ambassador of restroom breaks for the pack of dogs he currently lives with. His foster mom can't express enough how wonderful it is to have a dog that lets her know when he has to go to the bathroom. Thanos plays fetch (including returning the ball AND dropping it), loves to chew his cow shin bone or elk antler, and he has been amazing with the young children (ages 1, 5, 6) in his foster home.

Thanos is an excellent candidate if you are looking for a family dog to grow with.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
