Description:

Hello, I'm Luigi the smiling Boston Terrier. Honest to goodness- I smile!  Especially when the kids come home from school with all their hands to pet me. I think kids are wonderful. I know how to play gently with them and I don't jump up even when their faces smell like peanut butter just begging to get licked off. I have the lovely posture and coloring of a dapper gentleman in a tuxedo and I have the excellent manners to match.  I haven't had any accidents at my foster home. My foster brother is a 4 lb yorkie and though I'm bigger and tougher, I don't bully him. I've even learned to play tug very gently so that we can play together. That reminds me-- I can play tug! My favorite thing in the world is to sit by my people, but second to that is playing fetch. Instead of merely dropping the toy at your feet (boring!) I add some spice to the game and we play tug at the end.

My foster mom says my strongest attribute is that I am eager to please my people. I will work so hard to be a wonderful dog for you. The children I live with say my best feature is how soft the fur on my neck is. They're convinced that I am part Boston Terrier and part velvet pillow. Yup, I'm That fuzzy.
And did I tell you how smart I am? I have learned to sit and am working on shaking. I have already learned the rules of my foster home. They've requested that I stay off the furniture. I would LOVE to be on the couch, but I love even more making may people happy, so I stay off the furniture no matter how tempting. I'm crate/kennel trained. I only bark when something scary stomps in through the door. I enjoy walks, but I'm middle-aged and am content to sit at your feet and smile at you until you smile back. I'm a bit of a clown. I had a bath my first night in my foster home and I liked it so much, that I try to sneak in the tub when the kids have their baths. When my water bowl is empty, I grab a water bottle and carry it around until someone notices and I smile the whole time I'm doing it. Wouldn't you like to meet me?
20 lbs. 6 years old. House trained. Quiet. Medium energy. Neutered. Good with kids, dogs and I've never met a cat, but I am respectful of hamsters.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
