Employer Matching & Payroll Giving
Your workplace may be able to help your gift go further

Many companies offer giving programs that help employees support nonprofit organizations they care about.
Depending on your employer, you may be able to support Midwest Animal Rescue & Services through a matching gift, payroll deduction, workplace giving campaign, volunteer grant, or Dollars for Doers program.

These programs can be an easy way to increase your impact for rescue pets without starting from scratch.
MARS is a foster-based animal rescue and community veterinary clinic in Minnesota. Your support helps provide foster homes, adoption support, veterinary care, intake, transport, and community resources for animals in need.
Where all roads lead home.
Employer Matching Gifts
Some employers will match donations their employees make to eligible nonprofit organizations. That means your gift to MARS may be doubled, or sometimes increased by a different amount, depending on your employer’s program. Before or after you make a donation, check with your HR, benefits, or workplace giving team to see whether your company offers a matching gift program. Many companies use an online giving portal where employees can submit a match request. If your employer asks for basic organization details, MARS can provide the information you need.
Payroll Giving & Workplace Giving
Payroll giving is one of the simplest ways to support MARS through your workplace. Some employers allow employees to choose a nonprofit and give directly through payroll deduction. This may be offered through an annual workplace giving campaign, employee giving portal, or benefits platform. Even a small recurring gift through payroll can create steady support for animals who need safe foster homes, medical care, and a road home. To get started, check with your HR, benefits, payroll, or workplace giving team to see whether your employer offers payroll deductions for nonprofit giving.
Volunteer Grants & Dollars for Doers
Some employers offer grants to nonprofits when their employees volunteer. These programs may be called volunteer grants, Dollars for Doers, volunteer rewards, or employee volunteer matching programs. If you foster, volunteer at events, help with transport, support administrative projects, or give your time to MARS in another way, your employer may offer a donation to MARS in recognition of those volunteer hours. Every company’s program is different, so it is best to check your employer’s requirements before submitting a request.
How to Check Your Employer’s Program
Not sure whether your employer offers one of these programs? That is normal. Many people do not know until they ask.

A few easy places to check:
1. Search your employee benefits portal for words like:
-
matching gifts

2. Ask your HR, payroll, benefits, or workplace giving team.
3. Check whether your employer uses a giving platform or employee donation portal.
4. Look for deadlines. Some matching gift requests must be submitted within a certain amount of time after your donation.
