Rescue Information & Contact
Midwest Animal Rescue & Services is a foster-based organization dedicated to saving and rehoming dogs and cats in need.

We do not operate a traditional public shelter. All adoptable pets live in foster homes until adoption.

Looking to Adopt or Foster?
We’re so glad you’re here.
The first step in adopting or fostering with MARS is reviewing our process and submitting an application.
All requirements, policies, and next steps are outlined in detail on our Adoption Process page.
Applications are reviewed in the order received. Our Placement Team will contact approved applicants to discuss next steps and schedule meetings.
Already Applied?
If you have previously submitted an application with MARS, you do not need to apply again.
Whether your last adoption was recently or years ago, you’re welcome to reconnect with us.

Please email our Placement Team directly:
For:
-
Follow-ups on an existing application
-
Returning adopters or fosters ready to welcome a new pet
-
Questions about a specific pet after an application has been submitted
-
Foster support
Please note: We are only able to discuss specific pets with approved or active applicants.
If you are brand new to MARS, please begin by reviewing our Adoption Process page and submitting an application above.
Owner Surrenders & Intake
Owner surrenders require a completed Surrender Application.
Submitting the application is the first step in the process. Our team reviews each request carefully based on available foster capacity, medical needs, and behavioral considerations.
Please note:
-
We are foster-based and operate based on available homes.
-
Intake timelines cannot be guaranteed.
-
We respond to inquiries in the order received.
If you are considering surrendering your pet, please begin by completing our Surrender Application.
Rescue Partnerships
Rescue-to-rescue transfers require a detailed conversation and review of our intake guidelines.
At this time, we are not actively expanding new rescue partnerships. Organizations may email pleasement@midwestanimalrescue.org to begin a conversation if capacity allows.
Grant & Funding Inquiries
If you represent a foundation, corporate partner, or funding organization — or if you’re part of the MARS Community and would like to share a funding idea or opportunity — we would love to hear from you.
Email: connect@midwestanimalrescue.org
Subject line: Funding Opportunity

Whether you’re exploring sponsorship, a grant, a workplace giving idea, or a creative way to support our mission, our team reviews funding opportunities thoughtfully and as capacity allows.
